How a Post Gets Made

Topic Research

Our contributors pick topics from reader questions, forum threads, and real workshop problems — nothing gets written just to fill a calendar.

Hands-On Testing

Wherever possible, we test fixes, parts and setups ourselves before publishing. If we haven't tried it, we say so clearly.

Technical Review

Every article passes through at least one certified diesel mechanic on our team before it goes live. Accuracy over speed, every time.

Publishing & Updates

Articles go live with a clear publish date and are updated when specs change or better solutions emerge. No zombie content left to mislead readers.

Our Editorial Approach

Three principles that shape every article we publish

We Verify Before We Publish

Every spec, torque value, and repair step in our guides is cross-checked against OEM data and confirmed by a mechanic on our team. If something is uncertain, we flag it — we'd rather say 'check with your workshop' than give you bad advice that costs you an engine.

OEM data · Mechanic review · Transparent sourcing

Written for the Spanish Diesel Driver

Madrid's ZBE restrictions, Spanish fuel quality quirks, local garage culture — we write with full awareness of what it actually means to drive diesel in Spain today. No copy-pasted UK or US advice that doesn't apply here.

Madrid context · Local regulations · Spanish market

Our Readers Shape the Content

We read every comment and reply to emails. Monthly reader polls decide at least two articles per quarter. If the Madrid diesel community is arguing about something, we're already writing about it.

What Readers Say

Straight from the comment section and inbox

“I've been wrenching on diesels for 15 years and Dieseltee is the only Spanish blog I send my apprentices to read. The injector cleaning guide alone is worth bookmarking permanently.”

ARAlejandro RuizDiesel Workshop Owner, Madrid

“Found the blog after my DPF warning light came on. Followed the diagnosis guide, saved myself €400 at the dealer, and subscribed the same day. The writing is clear even if you're not a mechanic.”

Finding the Best Diesel Specialist in Madrid

We visited eight independent workshops in the Madrid metropolitan area, tested them with the same mystery fault, and ranked them on diagnostic accuracy, communication, and fair pricing. The results surprised us — and apparently our readers too.

Questions About Dieseltee

Everything you wanted to know before bookmarking us

No. We have no commercial agreements with manufacturers or dealerships. When we recommend a part or workshop, it's because our team has tested or verified it — not because someone paid for placement. Sponsored content, when it exists, is always clearly labeled.

Absolutely — and we encourage it. Use the contact form or email us directly. Reader questions are one of our main sources of article ideas. If multiple people ask the same thing, it becomes the next guide.

Both. Each guide includes a difficulty rating and a tools list upfront. Some procedures we'll recommend only for experienced mechanics or workshops. We never downplay a job that genuinely requires professional equipment or skills.

We cover a wide range — from popular European diesels like VAG TDIs and Mercedes CDIs to commercial vehicles and older mechanical injection engines. Our coverage reflects what readers in Spain actually drive, so European brands dominate but we don't exclude others.

You can become a member via one of our three support tiers. Members get early access to guides, a monthly diesel digest newsletter, and access to our members-only comment threads where contributors answer technical questions directly.
